Hi Everyone,

First of all , thanks to all who created this fantastic website. It is very helpful for every kind of aspect. I have couple questions if you answer them , i really appreciate your help.

1) I got my gc through dv lottery in 2004. On my green card it says resident since 08-27-2004. So , 08-27-2009 will be my anniversary right ?

I used a website that automaticaly counts 4 years and 9 months. If i finish 5 years on 08-27-2009 , am i going to start sending my application on May 27 2009 ? Is that the right date ?

2) I had several trips to my native country. I tried to find my old plane tickets for date purposes but could not find them. If i put a wrong day for my arrival and departure by mistake, is that going to jeopardize my citizenship process? Let's say i went on december 2005 but i know i went on 12th but I am not sure about this day, is that a really big problem ? I am thinking to find a way to figure out my exact days of travel outside of the country but no luck, any suggestions ???

Thanks a lot...

1) Yes, if you have been physically been present in the US for the past 30 months and have not had any absences longer than 6 months.
2) It is 90 days before your 5th green card anniversary, not 3 months. Apply some time in June 2009 and you should be OK.
3) For documenting foreign trips, your passport(s) is the best source. You will have entry/exit stamps from all places you visited. If exact dates are not known/can't be read from those stamps, you can provide estimations.

Correct, 08-27-2009 will be the 5th year anniversary of your GC.

You can apply up to 90 days before your 5th year anniversary, but it's suggested you deduct a few days to allow for any discrepancies in USCIS calculation of dates.

If you're not sure about exact date indicate the month and year at least. USCIS will be able to determine your travel dates from DHS records.
