Hi!
I have a question for the winners of the DV lottery as well as those who have received their GC.
I've been notified that I won for 2011 around June, and since then I've done some research on the subject, and I've calculated the costs are very high. I live in Israel, and for each member of my family to undergo physical exams would be $2,500 (each). That doesn't include interview fees and misc which from what I've learned can come up to $3,000 if not more.
I'm not at all positive that these figures are exact, but that's what I've heard.
As we're looking at a very high costs here, I'm not sure how people from less off countries can afford this. I'm reading about winners from Africa, Asia and I'm not sure how you guys do it. Just as a mere example, I can't believe the average Sri Lankan family, sometimes with more siblings than us, can afford those costs.
So, how DO you do it? Sorry for being so blunt, I'm just baffled by this.
