What documents to prepare for after I-140?

Hi,

I am expecting my I-140 to get through anytime now (RD 09/03/02 VSC EB2 RIR). My wife is still in India and we have opted for CP on our I-140 application. I am wondering what all documents do I need to prepare for CP and is there anything I can prepare before hand, while I wait for I-140 approval?

Documents like birth certificate, employment letter, degree certificates, etc... are all ready.

I heard about Police certificate. I guess I need to get it from New York and my wife needs to get it from India. When do we actually need these Police certificates? Do I need to sent it to NVC along with Packet 3 or I need to carry them with me to the final interview in Mumbai (in my case)?

I know about medical exam that I need to go through while I am in Mumbai just before the final CP interview.

Am I missing anything more? Can you gurus please comment on what else I can prepare/ worry about, while I wait for my I-140 approval.

Your comments are greatly appreciated.

Only steps missing are Agent of Choice letter (form DS-3032). This is used for all cases other than those that are self-petitioned. The steps are:

...
NVC Case Created on
Agent of choice letter received from NVC
Agent of Choice letter sent to NVC
NVC - Issue Fee Receipt...

You are not missing anything. After NVC receives your I-140 approval, you will have to send DS-230 part 1 which is part of Packet 3. You do not need any other supporting documents at this stage. All supporting documents are required only at the interview.

If your wife was added the the GC process after I-140, you may be asked to supply copy of marriage certificate to NVC.

Police certificates are required only at the interview. However, they can take some time to obtain and are valid only for one year from date of issue. You can get your Police certificate form the nearest Indian consulate. It takes around 4-6 weeks to get it.

Notarized letter of employment should be a recent one, so get that letter not sooner than 1-2 months of your interview.
Degree certificates are not a requirement but almost all applicants take it with them.

If I send packet 3 today, can anyone tell me how long will it take to the interview?
Thanks
