COS approved what next??

Hi Guys.......
I just got my COS approved frm.h4 to j1.Kindly advise what else I need to do and how to get a SSN in order to start my residency on July 1st .Any advise is appreciated!!!!

Take all the papers with your passport to loca Social Security office. They will give you the number and actual social security card in the mail. You can start using the number.

Thanx..do i need a letter from ECFMG for this?Secondly can I apply to any SS Office or does it have to be in the area that i will be joining residency.Thank you!!

You already have DS2019 from ECFMG. That should be enough. I think you can go to any Social Security office.
