Conversion to PERM?

Hi,

My company filed for my labor in Feb'04 under RIR (EB3) category. Now since PERM will be in place soon..

is it advisable to switch to PERM rather than following the old method to get the GC?

I am also on the same boat.

LC NON-RIR applied: April 2003 (VA SWA)

Any idea if it makes sense to convert it to PERM. I have been with this employer for 4 years now, right after my college. Would it fit under PERM? How fast are they guaranteed to decide cases under PERM?

PERM is new system and nobody knows what to expect. I plan to wait for few months and see how it shapes up and decide on the course of action.

Wait few months, see how PERM is behaving. Let people get approval from PERM and then plan on it. Thats what I intend to do.

Priority Date refers to the date your Labor applicaton received date in local office (SESA). This date plays important role when you are ready to file 485.

hi guys,

My friend has applied for labor in nov 04 .It was in non rir category.The date shows that right now they are looking at June 03 case.
He recieved a letter stating that his labor certification has been received and thay will review it as soon as possible.Is it possible that they have opened his case.
Does everyone get a letter as soon as they file their labor? :rolleyes:

Yes I did get a love letter like that from IN state office in May 2002 after they recieved my application in April 2002. :)

I am still waiting for my certification....

Thats just a reciept/confirmation.
 
Hi Guys
Please give me your feedback for my question.
1. My experience in india is 18 months
2. I have started working in USA for consulting company X in Dec 1999 and my Client was Y
3. Company Y was aquisited by Company Z in June 2000 and I joined the company Z in Feb 2001.
Now company Z is filing my labor in PERM.
Will my experience as a contractor with company Y counts as experience with company X or Z?
