Hello All

Here is my conversation with an IIO over the phone. I got the line after 1 hour try. After getting the ring i have to wait for apprx. 12 minutes to speak to an IIO.

Me : Hello Madam How are you?
IIO: Good. Can i have your Petition#?
Me : WAC-01-268-xxxxx
IIO : Can I have your name?
Me: XXXXX
IIO: your dob
Me: .....
IIO: Address
Me: .....,Jacksonville, FL
IIO: How is climate over there?
Me : Its cloudy now. If you wanna visit it is going to be very good for the Thanksgiving.(Honestly i didn\'t know the whether forecast during Thanksgiving at that time)
IIO: We are currently processing Jan 2000. It will take about 1 year to 1 1/2 years for us to take your application.
Me : (Upset greatly). Madam. Can you Please send finger print notice?
IIO: We will send when we will process your application.

(She did not ask is there anything else I can help you? and indirectly hinting me to hang up)

I dont know how long it takes really. This is really discouraging if it takes 1 1/2 years from this point onwards.

Guys,

Can you tell me how long it takes from this point onwards to get freedom.
 
I presume this is one lady with a chinese accent who gave me the same answer.

I told her that people with March 2001 RD are getting approval and how come you are saying January 2001!!!!! and she said in that case go ahead and fax the info and one of the most arrogant officers!!!!!! We need to live thru these kind of inhumane people and I presume she got her citizenship by birth and has not gone thru this process!!!!!
Just take it easy and have nice thanks giving!!!
 
I have the similar experience

Take it easy. I have called IIO 3 weeks before and it takes me 1 hr to go through. But she told me that INS are processing 01/01/98 case for I-485. Also she can not tell me whether the case has been assigned to the officer or not.

But she is very polite. So I guess you just make sure your FP is there. Try again next time to get a more professional IIO. (Hopefully :)
