LC Contract help required
Hi all
Our company lawyer has offered to re-file my LC application in Iowa (the NY one is taking too long) provided I pay him an additional sum (over and above what the company has agreed to pay to date).

I feel that I need a contract to cover what he will do (and won't do) for the second filing, but have no experience.

Is there any advice you can offer? What are the most important things to consider in the LC contract with the Lawyer?

(I thought of getting a second lawyer to deal with the company lawyer, but at $220 per 15 minutes I decided it was too expensive!)

There is a very basic contract with www.hooyou.com, but it was so basic it didn't seem worth it.

Thanks.

LC is location based. If you are working in NY then you cannot file in Iowa unless your company transfers you to Iowa.

Keep this in mind. Your case may be rejected on such grounds. But lawyer won't return the money.

GaryDToo,

Would your company/laywer be interested in filing LC's from IOWA for other ppl too? (IT related)

GaryDToo,

You need to show that your company will hire you for future job in Iowa - that is the requirement. Presently you maybe elsewhere. Also if you can get your salary slips from Iowa - it will help - no matter where you are located in USA.

You should ask your company to talk to the lawyer and why should he/she ask for extra money if he/she is your compny lawyer. Don't fall in trap of any contract with lawyer or even otherwise.

Also read the line on first page of web-site you provided:
"The best way to
predict your future is
simply to create it."
- Peter Drucker

Your lawyer must have read it too. :D

Get one for Hexamon please - Capitol Hill - this is an appeal.

Not sure what you mean.
Are you offering services, or wanting to a company to file on your behalf?

Either way, the answer would be no.
Sorry.

Jharkhandi,

Nothing is more boring than creating your own future. People, who seek Oracles, do not want they future known, they are really looking for the place where treasure is hidden. :D
