Continuing employment if no receipt for I-751 has been received?

Is it possible to do? What are my options? I submitted my documents to the CA processing center but I think I would not get a receipt before my conditional permanent card expires. I submitted my documents a month before the expiration. I realize that that's a little late but I was collecting all the documents I need:(. I am trying to figure out if there is anything I can do to continue working until I receive the receipt. Any suggestions? Does anyone know if its possible?

Thanks!

You could call USICS and check status after providing your A#. Im sure you got a delivery confirmation receipt after your application reached USICS. dint you? I dont think that receipt is going to help you much, but that is one item of proof that they received your application.

Good Luck!

I have delivery confirmaion online not a real receipt.. but I guess its the same. This is probably not going to be enough for my employer so I was wondering if there is anything that I can get or fill a form with the local office... Anyone had that experience?

Look here...

http://uscis.gov/graphics/howdoi/remcond.htm#permit

As a legal permanent resident, you should have received a permanent resident card. This card will continue to prove that you have a right to live and work in the United States permanently. If you file your USCIS Form I-751 (Petition to Remove the Conditions on Residence) on time, the USCIS will extend your conditional resident status for up to 12 months while your Form I-751 petition is under review.

I just called and they told me that apperantly I can go to the local office and ask them for letter if I havnt received a confirmation before my GC expires. So hopefully I can do that :)
