Continue working in US after 6 years based on Canadian GC?

I will complete 6 years on my H-1B in March 2006. I'm wondering, if I get my Canadian green card by then, do I still need to leave the US for 1 year, or can I continue working for my current employer on some other visa based on my approved Canadian green card?

--Canada has not Green Card it is PR card blue color and Canada PR does not make you eligible to work in US
