Content of RFE for employment verification

RFE Of I-485) Help-form I-797

My wife (I am a principal alien petitiongot RFE of her I-485 application)in which It says
A. Submit a copy of the principal alien\'s petition aprroval notic
(Form I-797) to establis that an employment based petition has been approval in his/her behalf. Employment based petitions include immigrant petition for alient worker(form I_140) and Special Immigrant (Form I-360).

Can any tell my what I-797 is? I only have I-140 approval notice on
me and don\'t have any other forms.

I called and Emailed so many times to my old lawyer butI did not get RFE info from my old lawyer till now????
What will be the my next step????

I learnt from AVM that I got RFE on 02/04/02 but I did\'t hear from my lawyer, please let me know with in how many days my attorney will receive it.

I changed my employer after 180 days, I am not sure how my old lawyer will co-operate to inform about my RFE. Is there any way to find out about RFE???

Please wait for a couple of days.

Give your lawyer some time. In all probability it may have been mailed out on 5th and your lawyers office may have received it on Friday or today (Monday). Wait till Wednesday and call on Thursday.

If you don\'t hear from them call INS AFTER 2 WEEKS and let them know that you have not received it and change your mailing address.

I think your lawyer will get back to you by Wed, Thursday....don\'t bug him too much before that. They may probably have lot of mail to go thru and may take a day or two. Good luck.

I could not agree more with freeme\'s reply.

Yeah, pls wait for 2 weeks. I believe that the Atty has an obligation to send you details of all communication (s)he receives from INS. Once you receive it, inform INS about change in address & if possible (I\'m not sure if this is recommended) inform them of change in legal counsel.
