Contacting VSC directly

I have never contacted VSC or any other INS department directly about my case however reading here, it seems like a number of you have. Is there any benefit to me calling directly or should I just trust that the lawyers and INS are working on my behalf?

Details are below. I do not expect approval soon (although I would like it!) but my FP notice came very quickly so I'm hopeful. Could you please let me know if I should be contacting them or checking status myself? Thanks.

Wait at least 9 months. Check on shusterman.com to see what dates they are processing and accordingly call them at that time.
