Contacting the Senator about I485 processing

No Title

Yes, many of us did that already but there seems to be of no use so far. Even the staff at senators\' office says that they are aware of these discrepancies in processing (like not following any particular order, approving later cases leaving the earlier ones untouched for a very long time etc). They even told me that they can not force TSC in this matter as long as TSC maintains their "July99" story.

It is very tiring and frustrating to keep waiting forever while watching others with RD/ND as late as 2000 getting approved.

hoping to see the end of this pain very soon,

Contact AILA!!

Guys, it might be more helpful to contact AILA to push 485 processing issue as a process priority agenda. Senators can help you with either a particular case or general regulation issue, but I don\'t think they can influence INS internal processing priority list.

Again, the person you may want to contact is: (AILA stands for American Immigration Lawyer Association and they talk to different INS center production lines with regards to 485, 140, etc. process time and other issues.)

Senator

I had tried. No use. In fact, one of my friend is a state senator.
Senators have no governing authority over INS.

does it help

I am in a peculiar problem... INS has considered my case as Marriage based, thought it is Employment based and they are asking for some documents that is not related to my case at all. If I contact AILA liason.. will it help to get to the officer who is incharge of my case and make him/her understand that it is a mistake. Please advice. Also, what is the cost involved in contacting AILA

AILA

well, don\'t get me wrong. They are not your lawyers who help with your particular case. They discuss or push general agendas with INS and try to find a common ground with INS folks as to general case processing procedures and processing time.

So, by contacting them, we are trying to get a "place" on AILA\'s agenda to negotiation with TSC on the 485 processing slow down as a general issue.

You are absolutely right. I am one of the unlucky ones just like you.

My Details are ..

PD:12/96, EB3, INDIA, RD:09/17/1999, ND: 10/01/1999, currently on 2nd EAD. Contacted, both the congressman and senator. Surprisingly, both have taken up my case. This is the last battle I must win. I have no other choice.
