How about instant approval of I-485 by applying online?
INS delays processing on purpose to limit immigration.
This is why they have limited number of visas available
each year. They are the masters of delays.
Imagine this scenario: Your whole greencard process takes
1 day. You have to wait 2 days for citizenship. You get your citizenship. You sponsor your brother. It takes your brother 1 day to get his greencard and 2 days to get his citizenship.
All of a sudden you will see the entire population of India and China and Mexico relocated to the US in 5 years.
Do you want that? No. So keep dialing and get a busy signal
because perhaps that is better for you on the long run.

It is very diff to get connected.The trick is to call INS around 7:30 in the morning.Then u will get connected.Then keep on holding by pressing and listening to the the various options given.Finally after 8:00 am select the choice to speak to an IIO. That is how I did.I never managed to get through on regular hours.
