Folks,

Can anyone who has heard of or had experience contacting senator, shower their thoughts???

My case is pending since Oct 01 and cold since the reponse to RFE on Feb 25,03.

1) What information/help can Senator's office do for me? What can I ask them? Can I ask to find out how long will it take for my case to be adjudicated?? How would it help me?

2) Can it harm me in anyway, esp since I am going on my own with out consulting with Atty or Employer??

3) Is that a problem if I contact both Senator & Congressman at the same time hoping atleast one would help me??

Please share ur thoughts ASAP.....

Thanks in advance....

1. Explain them your situation. Tell them how long you've been waiting and whether they can inquire about your case and speed up the process or not. Be sure to provide them your LIN# and address and phone#.
2. No, there is no harm in contacting the senator's office without consulting your lawyer.
3. I don't think there will be any problem if you contact more than one (two) senators’ office.

Above suggestions are made based on my knowledge of other people contacting the senator’s office.

As long as your ND falls after Aug. 22, 2001, the date published by NSC for EB-based I-485 adjudications, they are unlikely to offer you any help, as it would not be seen as unnatural that your case is pending. This is why NSC moves that date very reluctantly.

You can still try and see if you can get the ear of a sympathetic staffer.
