Contacting Congressmen in Houston

Has anyone contacted Congressmen in Houston? How has been their response?
Is it John Carter or Gary Elkins ?

On http://www.profileusa.com John Carter has a voting record for lower Immigration.

Maybe we should all start a thread about 'contacting Congressmen & their office response'. It could help everyone.

Hi Goastros - I have contacted John Carter (R) in the past and received no real help. A waste of time in my opinion.

A colleague of mine contacted Kevin Brady (D) and the liaison in his office (June Kenyon) took real initiative and helped him get his AP quickly.

Good luck!

goastros,

I requested help from Congressman John Culberson in whose district I reside and his office got the job done.

sg_r2, I live in northwest and I know picsarus too.
So are we stuck with John Carter?
I had noted on http://www.profileusa.com that John Carter had voting record on low immigration so Picasarus, your experience does not surprise me.

Does anyone know if the TX senate congressmen could do anything?
I found Gary Elkins office, it is on Jones Road. So not very far from where I live.

I also wrote to Senator Cornyn at the same time I wrote to Congressman Culberson. Congressman got me a response in 15 days whereas the Senator got me a meaningful response after 90 days. I think it has to do with the staff at their offices- how efficient they are and what contacts they have at the USCIS.

I know a friend who had written to Congressman Sheila Jackson-Lee's office about a month ago and has received no response yet. Publicly Congressman Jackson-Lee presents a very pro-immigration profile but when it comes to do the real job her office is missing in action!
