It looks like this discussion has been deleted. I contacted almost all the AILA officials listed in the previous discussion
about the I-485 delays at INS Texas Service Center. I received a response from Ms. Willams, AILA Spokesperson, asking
my attorney\'s name. She has mentioned that AILA is a membership based organization and she will discuss with
my attorney about AILA efforts on this issue.

Fellow I-485 TSC waiters, please post your experiences on this issue. Also encourage other waiters to contact AILA.
I will re-post those AILA contacts given by one of our fellow waiters.

   Thanks,
   cpb

Rec\'d positive responses from AILA

Looks like AILA is aware of the issue and we need to have more people sending them messages requesting assistance.

Write to official AILA immigration president resolve 485 delay!!

   immigrant88 - 08:56am Aug 9, 2001 EST

I have been in contact with a few key AILA persons and here is what I found: (AILA is the America
Immigration Lawyer Association and they hold bi-weekly liaison meetings with all INS service centers
including TSC to address all sorts of processing issues, including I-485!!!)

   1. Douglas Stump (dstump@usvisagroup.com): AILA TSC liaison Chairman. He IS THE MAN to address 485
issues to TSC. But, he fails to realize 485 processing delay issue and seems reluctant to address the issue
to TSC. Let\'s change his mind by all writing email to him!!!

   2. Steve Ladik (SLadik@jenkens.com): AILA national president. He acknowledged the issue and agreed to
raise this issue to Douglas Stump as ultimately, Douglas is the one to talk to TSC. Steve can influence
Doug, let\'s write to him as well to show how severe the problem is!!

   3. Silvia Graves (SilviaGraves@compuserve.com): AILA TX Chapter president. She also acknowledged the
issue and agreed to raise this issue to Douglas Stump. She can also influence Doug, let\'s write to her to
show the severity of the problem!!

   4. Jeanne Butterfield (jbutterfield@aila.org): AILA Executive Director. She acknowledged the issue and said
they were working on it. How much attention they put into it?? Don\'t know, by us all writing to them, they
may start to pay enough attention!!!

   5. Crystal Williams (cwilliams@aila.org): AILA spokeperson. No reply from him.

   6. Nadine Wettstein (nwettstein@ailf.org): AILA Legal. No reply.

   7. Amy Novick (anovick@aila.org). AILA Deputy Director. No reply.

Let\'s all write to these folks and voice your concerns, feelings and frustrations. As INS new Commissioner
just arrived, we may stand a chance to influence AILA and eventully to the new commissioner and TSC!!!

It looks like TSC is still continuing it\'s saga of approving cases all over the board. I heard in the last couple of weeks cases applied in May 1999 and also March 2000, both EB3 , INDIA. My RD is September 1999. I don\'t understand what is so difficult to work on cases in the order they receive.

Thanks,

Request lawyer to contact AILA

I requested my lawyer to contact AILA TSC liaison with request to
speed up I-485 processing at TSC. Don\'t know if they will follow
through as they are company lawyers.

In general, lawyers do not care if there are processing delays in I-485 processing. It works to their advantage if there are processing delays for I 485 so that they can make more money due to the renewals and /or extentions of EAD, AP and H1 visa etc. Is it conflict of interest?

However, they are concerned if there are delays in H1B or EAD processing.

Re-Fingerprinting notices

Hi July 99 to Feb 00 I-485 applicants.

My company attorney in Chicago e-mailed a liason in Texas to speak to AILA.
They say they are trying to get the fingerprinting notices re-issued in the next AILA meeting - but that was 2 weeks ago. In the meantime he is as mentioned above making money by applying EADs and A/Ps for the third time.

I am also a September 99 I-485 applicant at Texas.

I agree with the approach to send e-mails to Douglas + whoever as it is our problem not attorneys\'s or company\'s

Thanks for the updates.
