Consulting Job and Qualification of Stay

If I accept a consulting job in a Canada based company, that requires US travel(MON-THU/FRI) for certain projects. I will be based in Canada and also my family will be staying in Canada.

Will I be able to count the days I am away from Canada Mon-Fri? for the PR and Citizenship stay requirement?

-- For citizenship purpose: NO.
-- For PR purpose - may be ( I wouldn't count on it though)

The cases like these ones get scrutinized and the outcome is positive only for a few.
