Consultar Processing Times

I am just about beginning the process to file for GC for my parents who live in India. I am considering Consular Processing so that they can continue to stay in India as the processing is happening. Can anyone who has gone through this before share their processing dates/times to CSC and any consulates in India? Trying to get a sense of the end to end process times

hm...i think its a little more these days. the first step i-130 alone is taking about 6 months now. i assume the rest of the steps will take another 6months. the ca date for parents in august 2nd 2011 last i checked. but now it has changed back to 5 months. but i havent heard too much from people who did hear back.

Can folks share experiences about Consular processing for Parental Green Cards? Any specific experiences from Consulates in Delhi or Hyderabad?

which part of USA are you in?
which service center is processing your parents petition?
which place in india are your parents residing?
In India, Delhi.Mumbai,Chennai were the only US Counsilates processing Immigrant Visas. Hyd never processed Immigrant Visas.They do only Non Immegrant Visas. As of 2012, Only Delhi and Mumbai are processing the Immigrant Visas. No more Chennai.
So be depending on where you live you can choose Delhi or Mumbai.
Make sure you have all the required paper work ready before I 130 gets approved, so that it would not delay the rest of the process.

They live in Delhi and are considering relocating to Hyd.

Yes, thanks. Any pointers towards particular paper work you refer to that is particularly important. I have started collecting all the necessary materials.
