Hi guys,
My I 140 got cleared last friday and I have selected Consular Processing for further. My lawyer is not telling me exactly what the procedure would be for CP and nor he is telling me that how does it work.

Would someone be able to help me out with this and explain me that how is this CP thing work. Would my papers be sent to the US Visa center and then to the Consulate in Mumbai or what?

Would appreciate details if possible.

Thanks

Spouse inclusion after I140 approval

I got married after my I140 got approved. The I140 was approved
in oct 2000. I have to send packet III to consulate directly
and not route through the NVC as done with new policy change.

The spouse in question is currently on H4. Should filing a separate
packet III forms for her along with his packet III forms suffice
the requirements for getting CP interview scheduled at the sametime
for both? or some paperwork needs to be done to make
that happen in addition to packet III submission?

I am aware of cases where applicants can submit new packet IIIs for spouse at
the time of interview and get interview done for both at the sametime, one week
     later or some months later.

I would like to know the exact procedure to make that both are scheduled for
     interview on the same day.

All help or suggestion in regards with this issue will be highly appreciated.

Has process change?

I call NVC. The automated machine states that a letter explaining AOS has been sent to me. I am required to reply and reconfirm that I want to go through with CP. Has this unnecessary process always been there or is it something that\'s added recently?

there is discussion going on in one of the board, refer to it for details
