Consular processing & finger printing

Hi,
I am not knowledgeable at all in Consular processing.
1. Does one need to do finger printing for Consular processing? If so, where is it done? I'm on H1 in the US. Shall I do it in US or in the US consulate in my home country? 2. Shall I do medical exam in the US or in my home country?
Thank you very much in advance.

1) Finger printing is done at POE after your CP is done.
2) Medicals have to be done in India. The details in it will be sent by Consulate in Pkt 4.

rrajendr,

Thanks a lot for the reply.

Regarding your answer to the first question ---"Finger printing is done at POE after your CP is done", isn't everything already approved once CP is done? So what's the point of doing finger printing at POE when you come back to the US? Is a checking really done at that time? Or will they send you results later?

Sorry, I don't know the exact details on the finger printing. Based on what I have read from this forum I answered your question. You could search this forum to answer your question.

Finger printing at the POE is not done with an intent to do any more checks. It goes into their database as a permanent record.

You will be asked for right index finger at the time of interview at consulate. Also when you enter US, at the airport immigration officer will ask same to do at 2 places. This is what happened with me earlier this month.
