Hello Friends,
I am US Citizen and want to marry an Indian in New Delhi.
I have recently heard about Direct Consular filing which
is much faster than the traditional way of getting PR for her.
How does this process work and how long does it take?
Where can I find more information about it?
Please help.
thanks a ton,
Sanjay.

Hi,
I just came from india and its really fast from New Delhi. it can take only 2 to 3 month for her to get the PR. its easy you can go to delhi embassy and they will help you go inside and ask for INS and tell them you need to file for her and they will help you.

hi

did u file DCF for your spouse? pls post ur complete experience
did they insist on residency for u @ india ?

whats DCF ? can you tell me. ya they do say that u hv to be from india and all that but they do it. let me know what u want to know i will tell u.

Please tell me all you know abt this procedure (DCF is the procedure of getting a spousal GC from a counsulate )

Hi,
i Went to ND and for my wife in Nov and when i went their they took me and her to INS. They have list of documents which you need for the filling. its as Follows
1) I-130 form
2) Marriage certificate
3) her birth certificate
4) Photos from the wedding take the whole albumn they want that.
5) G-325 form for you and her.
6) photo for her and you one each.
and divorce certificate for you and you citizenship certificate and passport copy for her and yours.

the officer will come out and ask you to put this doc in order and they take your passport and ask you to wait.

they call your name and take your papers and some photo from your wedding and then you wait.

then another officer will come and take you and her inside for interview and he will ask you and her ?'s. once he is happy he will tell you that everything is fine and your case will be transferd to the consulate where you live thats mumbai, chennai or kolkatta.

then your wife has to wait for her papers to come to consulate and then they will send her the packet 3 which you sign and give back and then they will call u for interview.

she need PCC from POLICE and PASSPORT office so its good idea to get that fast and once you are ready sign the packet 3 and wait for interview dates.

need more let me know.

thanks a lot dude, im wondering the following..

a) did u call in advance and ask them if they will do DCF for u or did u just walk in ?
b) did the officer ask u anything aboyt ur residency etc?

thanks a lot and congrads

they do say that its only for US citizen living in india and others they are doing favour.

but i had all the people from here only for that. and they dont ask about where yo live and you give your sad story that it takes long in usa and all that and it will be fine dont call just go and they will take you.
