Six months to the day after Mohamed Atta and Marwan Al-Shehhi flew planes into the World Trade Center, the Immigration and Naturalization Service notified a Venice, Florida, flight school that the two men had been approved for student visas.

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Visas were issued to 105 non-American men who should have been prevented from entering the United States because their names appeared on government lists of suspected terrorists, congressional investigators have found.

I think every literate in this world knows who Mohammad Atta is and there are several so-called NEW MEASURES are taken to prevent issuing visas to al-qaida terrorists. This is all looks like a conspiracy to prevent the terrorists as well as all the immigrants to US, eventually not entering anyone to US. Probably some of these people think that any future attacks could be prevented by not issuing visas and immigration to the outside world.

This is my view about the way INS is working.

Nah no conspiracy here. I think you are giving too much credit to both INS and the government.

The reason INS gave Atta and friends the visa was because they don't know how to read!

The reason Bush has a screwed homeland defense policy is because he has no freaking brains and doesn't know what is good for the country.

Whatever be the reason, We are definitely in for the long run. *sigh*

By now you must have realised our 485s are not going to be approved in near future. I brought this up long time ago, it looks like its going to be true.

I think they crack open Dec. cases and we will see approvals but the questions is will most of us be around long enough.
Reading and occasionaly participating in those threads depresses me more about this whole process as if there is nothing in life other than to wait for it to complete yet knowing that so many out there share the same experiences also makes me feel better
