Congressman help with GC - please share your experience

Hello,
I had an AOS interview four months ago and I never received anything from USCIS since then, neither they gave me any information on my case when I went to the NYC DO (4 TIMES). I wrote to a congressmen asking for help.
I just received a letter from the USCIS (forwarded to me by the congressman I asked for help with my GC). The letter says that they have opened a request for case status information and that they will provide the info as soon as they have it.
My question is:
Will the USCIS only say that the case is being worked on (the regular BS they usually say when someone with a higher status makes an inquiry) or will they actually start working on my case and send me my CG.
At the interview, I was told I was approved, but I didn't get a stamp or anything else since then, so I am very very nervous and desperate...it's been a 3 year long trip so far....
Please whoever has a similar experience - share it with me...
Thanks.

Most probably, they will come back and say that your case is stuck in FBI name check at which point your congressman will wash his hands off your case. They do not like to poke their nose in federal business. I hope your name check is solved quickly, but there are a few people on this forum waiting since 2003 for their namechecks to get clear. I do, however, strongly believe that the long waits are only for people born in a certain region of the world. I hope your name check gets clear within the specified period by FBI.

Good Luck!

Got no news here either(interviewed/approved on May 10th), lawyer sent a letter to ask about it this week. but he said don't know when can get a reply, and sometimes they don't reply. :(
good luck to you speedee hope they get back to you soon...at least we can know what happened caused the delay... this is so...speechless

hi speedee, just let you know that i received a fingerprint notice today (even i did them already twice in the end of 2003 and 2004). maybe sth wrong with it(could be expired or not clear or sth, have no idea).
so i guess the problem for the delay maybe because of this fingerprint thing. hope helps.
