confusion about date to apply n-400

I am a little confused about the date when I can apply n-400. should I consider 10/06/2004 or 10/18/2004 when applying n-400

according to my green card - resident since 10/06/04

in the passport it says-

processed for I-551
temporary evidence of lawful admission valid until 10/17/2005

NYC/10/06/2004
IIO/10-18-2004
I485 approved
 
You can apply up to 90 days before 5 years of continuous residence as LPR. In your case that would be up to 90 days before 10/6/09, if you have never broken continuous residence in the last 5 years as LPR.
 
Go with the date on your GC. Look into applying 90 days before 5 years on GC.

It appears you could sign and mail N-400, July 8th (no earlier than this date)
 
Thanks to all for the response.
Another question I have is that assuming I apply on 10/12/09. When can I leave to go on vacation. Should I wait till the check is cashed?
 
Check out the timeline thread for your DO and extrapolate timings there to your filing date. Generally, you'll get FP notice about 2 weeks after filing and your FP will be scheduled up to a month after filing.
