To preserve residency, I'll need to have lived in the USA for 1 uninterrupted year to be eligible to file n-470.

At this moment, I have already lived here for uninterrupted 1 year as a LPR. What if I leave the country now and after I come back, in a month the company i work with decide to send me overseas, do I still meet the fact that I've lived in the USA for one uninterrupted year? In other words, does it have to one full year as a LPR at anytime or one full year right before you file the n-470?

Does this make sense or this is stupid thinking?

Thank you

The eligibility for N-470 is as least 1 continuous year anytime since becoming LPR.

oh nice then.

Can you review this scenario for me?

Got green card in may 2009
Left the country in August 2009 for 20 days

Since August 2009, I haven't left the country yet (met the continuous one year)

Next month, I am leaving the country for 1 week.

in Dec, I am leaving the country again for 2 weeks.

Can I still be eligible for filing N-470 if I want to file in 2011?

THANK YOU

Once you have met the 1 uninterrupted year requirement, you will forever satisfy that requirement as long as you are a permanent resident, regardless of how much you travel after that.
