confused about numbers being processed

hi

our number is in the 14000's.... and the numbers they doing now are 2500... if they are only doing it until sep 2014 and it seem like the numbers are only going up a feww hundreds to a thousand a month- does it mean that our turn will probably not come?

Well it is possible (and likely) that some people will not get interviewed this year. There are many more selectees this year than previous recent years, so the highest numbers will probably be disappointed. However, I don't think AS14K is that high - so you certainly should NOT give up hope. The numbers generally progress faster after the December numbers because USCIS have real data on responses and interviews so far and also because the holiday season is over. I suspect you will get an interview, albeit late in the fiscal year - between July and September 2014. All you can do it wait and watch the visa bulletins.
 
Well I concur what I Britsimon said and my guess is that 18k case and below will get their interviews for Asian. Why? Just do a simple calculation. Max case for Asia is 27k this year. Last year all winners applied get their interviews which is 16k winners. In dv14, winners are 23k. So just take 16k/23k and multiple by 27k you get 18k. This calculation is based on this year case distribution but based on last year statistic. But I am not saying 18k above will not get their interviews, it just that above 18k need a bit more luck.
