Conflicting Labor Approvals - online and offline - Pls. advise

All Visa Gurus - Please Advise
My second and final term of H1B visa expires on July 23rd 2008. My PERM labor application was filed on Jan 22nd 2008 in the Chicago Centre . Labor application is still pending , but the problem is the online status of Labor Application to my lawyer appears as Approved , which the DOL is claiming as a mistake ! So , they are neither sending the hard copy of approval papers to my lawyer nor are they fixing the status online as it should be - Pending . My lawyer says they do not take phone calls so she is follwing up with them on emails .This frustating status quo is maintained for the past three weeks and nothing is really moving ahead .
This is making me nervous and anxious because my visa expiry date is imminent in July 08 . Is there anything I can do to expedite the situation and get past this roadblock . Also when should I apply to capture my vacation days . My lawyer says July 15th , so I can get maximum time but I want to take second opinion .
Come July 15 , let's say if my labor application is still pending will I still be eligible for the vacation day capture - visa extension period (abt. 4 months) .
Any advise and help will be highly appreciated !
