Confiscated Green Card

I am a naturalized Canadian. I formerly hold a US green card by virtue of my parents petition. When I entered the US as a permanent resident, I came back to Canada right away bec. I didn't want to lose my job in Canada...meaning I didn't apply for the necessary papers. I've been using my Canadian citizenship card to go tothe US for visit, pleasure and job-related trips until the time when INS found out I was holding a green card. To make the story short, my green card was confiscated because, according to INS I abandoned my permanent residency stratus(green card). Now, my company wanted me to go to the US to work via L1-B(Intra-company transferee) visa. My question is, does the confiscation of my green card have an effect in getting my L1-B visa? Will I get problems with the INS at the border when I go to the US and apply for my L1-B? And, is there still chance for me to get back my green card? Any input about this matter is highly appreciated. Thanks!
