Confirmation Page Issues

Hi,

Earlier today I submitted an application to the DV 2014 lottery ad it was accepted. Unfortunately shortly after this, and before I managed to print it, my browser had a mini freak out and tried to reload every tab that was open (Safari on OSx10 sucks). I haven't closed the window/tab because I'm unsure of what to do but it's asking me to resubmit the form to get back to the confirmation page. I don't want to do this because I know that multiple applications will disqualify all applications. After a mini freakout, I emailed the KCC but do you think there is any chance they will EITHER (I don't mind which one because there is still time to submit a new application) send me my confirmation number, OR delete my first submission so that I might do it again (this time on a different, more reliable computer!)?

Please let me know if anyone has had a similar issue before, or knows how to help me out of this situation. I am still holding out that they will reply to my email, but just in case they don't, any information would be greatly appreciated..

by submitting a new application you won't get the same CN as the first one, and you'll be auto-banned from DV-2014, also KCC won't give you your CN back or delete your application they don't have the right to do it, the only chance remaining for you is if you're married, your spouse should submit an application and include you in.

Not married unfortunately, I'm just finishing up my degree. I'm so annoyed as it was a faulty website in a different tab that caused the break in my browser.

I've spent the past three summers working in the US and would like to go back when I'm finished college.

Thanks for the info though. :(

I'm guessing it's probably late now and your browser session expired but you should have go ahead and click Yes on the re-submission dialog. The page will postback but it won't submit your DV application again. This is done on different postback (the page before).

Alternatively, you can try to get your confirmation number from Safari offline cache on your Mac. Go to ~/Library -> Cache -> Safari and scan through every file. I haven't tried it myself so not sure if the DV page's body is not encrypted but you might be lucky.

The next time and for other OSX users, if you are worried about the browser reload after you've got the confirmation page, press ⌘ Cmd+⇧ Shift+3 to make a screenshot saved on your desktop immediately after seeing the confirmation page.

Thank you so much! With little else left to try, I tried both of these. The Safari cache was indeed encrypted, but when I reloaded the page and clicked resubmit, a page came up saying "There has been a problem directing you to the page you requested. Do NOT click reload, refresh, forward or back. Please click the Resume Entry button below to return to your page."
I did, and there it was, my original confirmation page with yesterday's timestamp! Thank you, and to anyone who gets stuck with this in the future - don't panic like I did, don't close the window, and if necessary you can resubmit the form (although I did do it after the 60 minutes given which may have paused the application).
