Conditional green card Question?

Hey,

Once in receipt of an approved 2yr conditional green card how long over the next 2 years must be spent in the usa? My reason to ask is that i have a property in the uk that i need to sell and i have also been offered a really good job with a one year contract. My wife (us citizen) is thinking about coming to the UK with me for a while but how will this affect the process and conditional green card here in the usa?
I know that there isnt a problem with me spending time in the UK and coming back to the us (no more than 6 months without a reentry permit) but how will this affect the interview to remove the conditions in two years time?

if you are not going to be in UK with a temporary work visa, then you will take up residence there, and that means that USCIS may consider your US residence abandoned.

If you intend to work in the UK while maintaining a GC, I strongly suggest you also want to apply for a reentry permit before you go, especially if there is any likelihood of exceeding 1 year duration.

As it is, working abroad in any capacity other than an overseas assignment for a US company usually means you've broken continuous residence (from a naturalization perspective), so securing the reentry permit may be your only mechanism for proving you have not abandoned your residency
