I about to concurrently file for my parents who are currently visiting the US and have been in the US for about 2 months (so 4 more months remaining before their I-94 expires). I have a few questions:
1) Where should I file? Most instructions/threads I read suggest that I file at the central location in Chicago. Will it be faster or slower if I file at Newark, NJ where my local INS office is located?
2) My mother obtained her GC 20 years ago but she did not maintain her resident status in the US. She has been visiting the US every other year for almost last 20 years using a 10 year multiple entry visitor's visa. Could her GC processing be expedited somehow? Can an old GC be revived? She still has the physical card I-551 in her possession.
3) Once I file, can my parents continue to stay in the US beyond their I-94 date, even if they don't receive their GC?
4) When submitting I-485, do I need to attach a copy of each and every page of their passport or just a few key pages with their name/photo/US Visa, etc?
