My wife took up a University position in NY in May 2004 on H1B visa(H1B cap had been reached by then but her position in the Univ was cap exempt).
She later got a job offer near our home in CT. The offer is for a part time position. Before we could file our papers for H1B transfer the cap for 2005 was reached on Oct 1. We then filed for concurrent H1B for CT position by regular processing. The concurrent H1B was approved last week.
My wife, who is now expecting, finds it very difficult to mantain her position in NY(2.5 hrs drive each way).
Can she quit her original Univ job in NY and still mantain her H1B status thru the concurrent H1B obtained for CT job. She plans to continue working with CT employer as it is closer to home and is a part time position.
How long does she have to work before she can quit the Univ position in NY?
