complicated case for GC via marriage

hi

my friend applied for GC via marriage to USC

he was student but withdraw from school as soon as he filed papers

he went to india on advance parol

now he got divorced so his case will automatically closed for GC

and for student visa does he directly apply while in US or he has to apply from india?

please help
 
Does he already has conditional GC or his GC appplication is still pending when the divorce happened?

I am afraid that it will be very hard for him to get student visa unless he can demostrate he has no immigration intent.
 
he gave fingerprint

he didnt get EAD

he hasnt heard anything back from USCIS but assuming about rejection
