Hi,

I have filed my I-485 and waiting for the approval from INS.My case was filed on July-2002 and hopefully should get it another 3-4 months. Also I got an offer from an Indian based company which has it's branch here in USA.Eventually if I accept the offerI may have to goto India to work whcih I pefer now.As I am closer to my GC is it OK to accept this offer? If I accept how can I complete my 485 process without any issue ?I will be paid in Indian currency as I am going to work in India. In that case how can I keep my GC active.
I would really appreciate if you revert back to me with some info.

Thanks

You loose

Even if you get GC, you going to loose it. You have to live in US minimum 6 months in a year. My friend lost GC status for the same reason.

If you decided to go back, I would say forget about GC and enjoy your life in India.

First of all do not assume that you will be getting approval within 4 months, you could get it within 1 month, 3 months or a year too, INS is unpredictable in regards to approval, ofcourse most of them are lucky to get their approvals before time.

First of all prioritize, which is more important? GC or job in India. I would strongly suggest to take GC first and then take up job in India. You can apply for return resident permit which you can enter US even after 1 year or so.

There will be lot of drawbacks, if you take up job now. Suppose if you get any RFE or re-FP then you hv to travel back to US to satisy INS with proper documentaion unless you want to abandon ur 485 case.

---- once a person gets GC he can apply for reentry permit but it is taking 2 years to get rentry permit
