Completly Stuck - Medical and Preg wife

I called up the listed doctor today to make an appointment for the medical exam. Upon finding out that my wife is 5 months pregnant he said the following:
1. I should get a lawyer involved in this if I am going for her medical even though we refused the X-rays but we are fine with the blood tests.
2. The X-rays would have to be taken later in Aug after her delivery.
3. This will definitely delay the process as no decision would be made unless they recv all the medical reports.
Now, am I the first one who is going through this. I really need some help because my 90 days end on 5/15 and I am guessing if the whole thing is to be delayed then I would need to send some letter to canadian consulate asking for 5 months (?) extension...
please help!!!

I have gone through the same situation. In fact my son was born last August(2004) so we waited for whole 8 months for the medical( I got my medical forms in Dec 2003).
It would be better if you wait till your wife delivers the baby. You can FAX canadian consulate and let them know about your situation. This will delay the processing but there is nothing you can do about it.

Hope this helps..

Arrange the additional documents that RPC Buffalo has asked you to send. When you are sending the additional documents send a cover letter explaining the reason you can not get the medical done now. They will put your application on hold till your baby is born.

Please DO NOT get your medical done now. Wait till your baby is born and add her/him to your application and then get everyones medical done together.

All the best.

Thanx a lot for the replies. My wife's due date is Aug first week so does that mean that I can go ahead with the US and India PCC and send in all the other paperwork like proof of funds and W2 and send a letter for the medicals. Then later get the medicals done in Aug end and send them in along with it.
On a different note, is it possible for me to go ahead with the processing and then add my wife and kid later if I am not done or get a seperate application for them later...at least I could go and start working there in canada that way and they can live on a VISA until the PR is approved....does that sound logical or the best thing for me is to wait for the medicals and finish everything else...I hope there is no expiry related to the other stuff like PCC
Thanx in advance

I am not sure if you can make your wife a non accompanying family member in your application at this stage. Moreover even the non-accompanying members have to get the medical done along with you so it does not really help you in any way.

Keep in mind that if you have to sponsor your wife and kid later on it will take 6 to 8 months from US (Depends upon which country your wife is residing in). During this period you will have to be physically present in Canada and most probably your wife will not get a visitor visa to visit you.

My advise is not to complicate things and just wait till your baby is born and then get PR together. It much better that way.
