"Recommended for approval" usually means that the asylum officer has completed his/her review and approved the application and is waiting for supervisor concurrence, background security check, or other clearance in order to proceed with the final approval.

I-485 application sent - 30th January 2020
Received receipt -3rd February 2020
Biometrics on - 3rd March 2020
Status updated to fingerprint were received - 4th March 2020
Status changed to RFE was sent -15th July 2020
RFE letter received - 20th July 2020
Replied to RFE was sent - 31st July 2020
Status updated to RFE was received - 4th August 2020
Statues updated to new card is being produced - 24th August 2020
I got an approval letter and haven’t received the card yet. The letter mentions ‘You should receive your card within three weeks, if not please call us back’Does it mean you already got your GC? My friend applied for it (I-485) a year after her approval in 2019 and waiting since then.
I was asked to go back after two weeks of my asylum interview to get my results and when I went they gave me a recommended approval letter.How did you know it was recommended approval first? Was it on your updated status? This is what I found out about my case through senator.
"Her case is undergoing final review prior to a decision being finalized on her case. We are unable to estimate when the review might be completed. Once it is, the decision will be finalized and served to her by mail"

My Asylum timeline:
Submitted asylum application: February 2015, Arlington Asylum office VA,
Biometrics Done: March 2015,
February 2019 had to move to Michigan ( no asylum interview yet)
March 2019 transferred my case to the Chicago Asylum office. They confirmed reception in April 2019.
Until today no interview. Last week I noticed a change in the USCIS status check, the asylum clock was stopped. I only see some short information: The next step in your application is an in-person interview. Once we have scheduled your interview, you will receive an interview notice in the mail.
Not sure what does it mean though!
That what I assumed too.Seems like most of applicants you also missed the development with USCIS / DHS
Asylum clock / EAD clock is abolished for "everyone"
The clock was mainly used for the sake of EAD / Work permit, mainly to count 150 days of 180 days.
The new rule w.e.f Aug 25 2020 says that all new Asylum seekers will wait for 365 days to become eligible to apply for work permit. Therefore "clock system" has been removed for everyone
No they don’t, and during the interview they read that to u that whatever happens in the office stays in the office as well as not contacting ur home country, however if you have non political crimes in your home country that will appear in the background checkHas someone come across situation like this before
