Company sold to new owner TN status

My TN expires mid September 2008 and I would like to go with the mail in renewal method but some information has arisen that I was not aware of. It seems that the company I'm working for was sold to a larger company. This does not affect my job in any way but I think (not sure) that the tax ID number of my company may have changed? Is this something I have to notify the INS with or do things just stay the same since the company I'm working for is basically the same as far as my employment is concerned?

The takeover does not affect your current TN, since typically the new firm takes over all 'rights and obligations' which covers you.

Neither does it affect your renewal. In your I-129 letter your employer would indicate that transition, and still request an extension, rather than a 'new employment'.
