Thanks for posting your message. I learned last Thursday much to my disappointment that my case is on hold because of a company name change/restructuring/merge. Have been with the same company for the last 6 years. Did draw lawyer’s attention 7 months ago about submitting an amendment but he advised that it was unnecessary at the time. In any case, after reading your post I have approached my company/lawyer regarding an I-140 amendment. Could you please tell me what exactly needs to be done for an amendment application? Is it a long drawn out process or is it just a simple form. Any help would really be appreciated.

There is no special form for I-140 amendmend. It is really the I-140 form itself. In the covering letter company has to inform that they are filing I-140 amendmeend for name change/ acquisition/ merger. It should have your A# in the 140 form and covering letter should mention that the I-140 need to be linked to your I-485 giving your 485 EAC no.

May be you will get approval soon without I-140 redo because new guidelines are expected any time now. But you stand to lose nothing by doing a I-140 redo. If the guidelines are delayed then redo will defenitely help you.

vsc9909 Thanks for posting your response. Once again the information you have shared with us is really helpful. One question judging from the reply you received from the congresswoman\'s office it seemes that the ruling is not going to come out soon. Why do you feel it will?
