My attorney told that if we file proactive I-140 and asked IIO to join this application with 485, they will expedite the process of 140. Was it true. also I saw approval of one applicant on this board, who applied for proactive 140 in march and approval of 485 in april.

luvgc and others, please note that this is not ture filing I140 ammendment proactively DOSENOT EXPEDITE the process, I did the same thing but still I am on hold.

Infact this is a trick of these GREEDY BASTARDS LAWYERS TO MAKE MONY FROM YOU on EVERY SINGLE OCCASION.

Wait and watch where this thing drags us to ??????????

Hanuman, you are clearly even more frustrated than I :)

I\'ve seen people in this situation (company name change/
acquisition) fall into any of the following scenarios:

- link their proactive I-140 to their 485 and wait forever
  for their I-140 to be approved (e.g. you)
- get approved without any RFE (there have been a couple on
  this board in the past week)
- link their proactive I-140 to their 485 and get approved
  very quickly (happened to a friend)
- get RFEd (e.g. Mera_Kya_Hoga)
- sit on their butts and wait(e.g. me)

The INS is not an assembly line but a collection of individuals,
I guess it all depends on which individuals you happen to be
dealing with and how lucky you are.

The lawyers are like arms dealers - they make money no matter
who wins :)

I applied for a pro-active 140 due to company name change and my 485
was approved in a month, but I am sure that the 485 dept did not know
about my 140 amendment application.

and when did you apply for pro-active 140 ? can you please specify
RD/ND for 140 and 485 ?

Nope, both 140 & 485 had the same employer\'s name (before spin off)
RD/ND of 485 was 10/27/99 & 11/03/99.

Did you receive RFE for employment letter? If yes, how long did it take you to get the approval after you replied to RFE?
