Company Name change after filing for 485.

In my opinion, do nothing. Just wait for the approval. If you had sent all the documents, the IIO should not have any problem approving your case without asking for any further documents. In my case, the company name changed after my I-140 got approved and before I applied my I-485. Therefore, I got an RFE asking me to file a new I-140 with the new company as my petitioner. The message changed on June 19th. My lawyer received the RFE on June 22nd. RFE was sent back to the INS on July 19th. The message still has not changed. I will wait another week and then call and talk with an IIO. In my RFE, it clearly said that you started with company A and now you filed I-485 with company B. If your company has merged, you have to file a new I-140. In your case, the entire process was done with one company name and so you should not have any problem. Unless they sent you a RFE asking for W-2, pay stubs etc as RFE. If you ask me, just wait.

I am in the exact same situation. My company name changed between my filing the I-140 and I-485. INS sent the RE. (One other person from my same company with the same situation got the approval without the RE. Go figure. Is there anyway one could use that information to tell INS about it\'s double standards).
Anyway, since your case is almost like my except your lawyer was a little quick in responding back. (My details, RE June 26th and Reply sent back to INS on July 25th. The message has not changed yet also). I was hoping if you would please let me know if anything changes as regards to your case.

When INS asks for a new I-140 to be filed, does that mean again waiting for the over six month wait for the I-140 to be approved and then filing a new I-1485, or is it a fast-track thing that can be taken care of by responding to the RFE?
