company changes name

Quick question:
If a company changes its name, do the H1-B employees have to obtain new H1-B approval ?

I believe, you would need to file for an amendment, at the least. It is much like filing for a new/transfer H1. Your lawyer should know abt it.

Thanks for the reply.
A friend of mine had this situation several years ago, but never got the amendment. Is it likely to pose any problems for his GC process?

>but never got the amendment
I don't understand what that means. He never applied for one? I think, INS expects him to do that. If his lawyer didnot apply, may be, he has reason. I have no clue if it has any implications on the green card application. Currently, my lawyer filed for an amendment because my company was a wholly owned subsidiary of another company before but it is no so anymore.
