Dear friends,

My EB2 labor was filed on April 24, 2007, Chicago center, by my employer, a reputable tier-1 IT consulting company (a prime vendor for mortgage companies). It has been pending for 65 days.

In Chicago DOL, labors normally get approved less than a month.

Issue: My company attorney refused to give me the ETA case status number, citing company policy. As per the law, dont I've the right to know my case status number?

Shocking revelation:I sent email to Chicago DOL /w my name, SSN, DOB & company name, and they replied back in a week saying that they could not find my file in Chicago!

An email to Atlanta DOL did not yield in any reply. Cos PER cases have been pending since Jan 2007.

Now I am not sure if they filed in Chicago or Atlanta, or if they filed for my labor in the first place!

I thought desi consulting companies were worse, but american consulting companies r worst!

Immigration gurus: any suggestions??

Our attorney refused to give the number, or make subaccount, or give any other updates (company policy). So what we did was: we asked the HR (or whoever works with the attorney from the company) to log in and take a look (and show) the screen. The HR is the one making the initial account, so they have access (it took a while to convince him that it is possible to do this though). Good luck and don't panic just yet.

My lawyer is an employee of my Company

hello unsure,

Thanq for patiently replying back. Your comments r very valuable.

The only problem being.............the Immigration attorney is a full time employee of my consulting company, just like I am. And I also came to know that she is the only one incharge of immigration in the whole company (4 locations). So essentially, looks like I am screwed, and totally under her mercy.

:-(

Well, buy her a big box of chocolates or whatever she likes and beg at least to see the screen. That way at least you will know if it is filed. I have no other idea how you can check.
