My I485 was filed on Feb 2003. My I140 is approved. I am in EAD and H1B. Today my company was acquired by another company. Will this affect me in any way.

Thanks
Jijo.

I have been through this twice

Hi,

My company has been sold off twice during my gc process. Have not had any problems because my JOB remained the same.

Lawyer may have filed some papers though - I do not know. But personally, the gc process is still chugging along without problems (I have renewed H1B, got EAD, AP, received two FP notices) during the time that my comapny was sold off twice.

Do not worry but talk to your lawyer.

Just remember that while coming back into US after a trip abroad. At the port of entry, if asked, tell the name of the old company (the one which is mentioned in the EAD or the H1B) and not tell the new company name.

I accidendly told the name of the new company while in my H1B it was old company name. I was let go after 2 hr after they called the company HR to confrim what I was saying was right.

Company Closed

Hello Guys,

I am new to this forum. Please help.

My company has been closed while my GC is under process. Is there any problem with my GC?

I got my I-140 approved 1 year back and waiting for I-485. No RFE , no date change with LUD etc.FP has been done one year back.I am from NSC.

Thanks-Panch

Are you working for a different company now with a "similar" job and making the money specified on the LC? If yes then use AC21 as you have completed 180 days since filing 485.

Thanks Hathwar,

YES. I am working for diffrent company for similar job but as W-2 contractor and not the regular employee with almost double the salary.

Will this matter?

Panch,

I think the job has to be a "Full Time Permanent" in a similiar field. The difference in salary does not really matter. If possible, Try to get a permanent job with your client(or elsewhere).

Who knows, they may approve you w/o any RFE. But then this is INS, you better be prepared for everything.
