PQR. Remember, while we retain our company name still as "ABC" the W2s for "ABC" before acquisition came from a different parent holding than the "ABC" after acquisition! So, that's why I am reiterating that the name of the company is of little consequence here. While the name of the company may be retained after an acquisition, the effective control, salary paying holding company, the TAX-ID of the newly "acquired company" may all be different, thereby prompting an I-140 amendment, ASSUMING that your newly acquired company continues to process your Green-Card.

Even I was taken aback when I was enjoying the good news in 2002 that after the acquisition we are still retaining the name of our old company and that all the staff are in essence from the old company! However, my joy was short-lived when I came to know that an I-140 amendment is in order just because the "backend" information like the Tax-ID, salary disbursing entity etc. are all different after the acquisition!
