Communicating overseas

Since my wife is in the Philippines, pending USCIS approval. We have been communicating through MSN messenger. Most of the time, we have a good video and audio through MSN messenger. Most importantly, it's free - with DSL service on both sides of course. We use yahoo messenger as a backup because it seems to have more video/audio conversations that get cut off.

Using the internet allowed us to save a considerable amount of money. We can communicate more often and longer.

Has anyone tried to use Vonage service? From what I read on their web site, no matter where you are in the world, as long as you talk vonage-to-vonage its free - after their monthly charge of course.
