Comman Name Problem- Mumbai consulate gave me 221(G) -asked my Finger prints

I am a software engg.I went to H1 VISA stamping interview in March 2005. There I was told to come next day for giving fingerprints of both hands for one more level of verification, reason being I have a very common name.

I went to US consulate on very next day with 85$ demand draft and gave fingerprints of both hands. The US consulate people told me that they will intimate my office within 1 month, the date for the next VISA Stamping interview.

It been 4 months since then. i do now know the status of my VISA.
why my verfication is taking so long?
Is there any way by which i can speed up the process?

Has some one else also faced the same problem?

any solution.

Hi Rohit,
I am also in the same boat. I was asked this $85 DD for finger prints. I too was told that it may take around a month. It has already been a month without any result coming out of it. I am also confused like you on how to proceed on this further.
