Coming to the US while CR1 application is on-going

All,
I am a US citizen, I got married to an Indian citizen and have applied for the CR1 process. It is at the stage where I have applied for the I-864 and my wife is waiting on her police clearence certification so she can send it with her Immigration Visa application. This process is taking very long. Meanwhile, is it possible for her, if she gets an opportunity through her employer, to come to the US on a B1 or L1 visa? I understand that applying for this visa will not jeopardize the ongoing CR1 process.

If she does come to the US on B1 or L1 visa through her employer, do we/can we apply for a change of status from the US itself so she can continue her immigration process in the US?

Any suggestions are appreciated.

She should be able to get an L-1 visa if she qualifies. However, given the circumstances, I seriously doubt she will get a B-1 visa.

THanks Triple Citizen for responding. Say she comes on an L1 visa, can we continue her CR1 process from the US? Things are taking too long in India. We are at a point where we are unable to send the immigration visa application because the police clearence cerfificates is taking too long to arrive.
 
She can adjust her status once she is in the US, however that will not be a continuation of her CR1. It will be a brand new process with a brand new fee.
