Code 3 on FP notice: what is it?

I have just received my FP notice following my I-485 filed in April (less than a month!) - this forum (especially "Ginnu") gave me the courage to do it myself, and now I feel good about it.

My FP will be done next week and I have two questions:
(1) The FP notice shows code 3, what is this code and what is its effect on my case? Is it an indication that my case has a third priority?

(2) After fingerprinting, how long should I expect to continue waiting for the approval of my I-485?

FP Code 3 meant nothing...

Hi Kibanga ,

FP code 3 means they will take your signature, photo + fingerprints. It doesn't mean anything. Now If you give your fingerprinting under code 3, when you get your GC, that time you need not to go to your local office. (Still some cases they asked to report to local office again).

Good Luck

How many fingers they need for EAD fingerprint? my wife did her only one-fingher fingerprint, signature and digital photo for her I765. Is this normal. I thought for green card she should have all her fingerprints, not just one.

any similar experience on this? thanks!

Early Fingerprint...

Early finger print applicables only to certain locations that they allow walk-in finger prints.

Call your finger print location and check do they allow. If they allow be there in time and do your finger print. Remeber even to do early finger print, you need to have a valid finger print notice (received from USCIS).

Example. If u receive FP notice to be Jun 10th from USCIS, you can appear to your FP office by any day before Jun 10th. If you do FP before that then call early finger print

Experience with FP Code 2

My experience with FP Code 2 was: I went over there, the guy was really friendly. He took FP of my right index finger, photo and signature.
That's all! :)
