I am a Canadian Citizen, currently in Dallas and have to get a new TN for my job. If I want to avoid to fly to Canada which closest mexican border can I go?

Its not unusual to go to the mexican border - its not commonly done.

Nevertheless it can be done. Make sure you call ahead, ensure they process TNs and make an appointment. Sometimes the officer processing the TNs is only available during certain times.

Going to Mexico to get the TN is common place in California and Texas. The only real issue is if anything does happen and they deny your new TN, you could find yourself temporarily stranded on the Mexican side of the border. Remember you have to leave the US and then turn around and re-enter the US and apply for the TN...

Is this a new TN for a new job? Or an extension of your existing one? If it's an extension you can do it by mail so long as you get it in before the existing one expires.

If it's for a new job, then you can still do it by mail, but the wait is about 3 months. I think you can pay for premium process, but that's $ 1,000.00.

I thought you could apply by mail even for a new TN? Would one be able to work the new job while waiting for the TN to be approved or not?
