Dear Sir,

I am writing this for an important clarification, my wife is an US citizen and she filed petition for me on Aug 8th,2006.Sir, last week she received one mail from USCIS office and it says like this,
"Request for evidence – I-30 petition.

English Language Document:
You have submitted only the English translation of the marriage certificate. Please note that an English translation of a foreign language document submitted without the foreign language document is not sufficient to establish a relationship for immigration purposes. Please submit the foreign language document from which the English translation was obtained.

Registered /recorded documents: The marriage certificate that you have submitted does not show that the marriage has been registered by the civil authorities of the place of marriage. Please submit a marriage certificate that has been registered or recorded by the civil authorities where the marriage took place after the marriage ceremony took place"

At the time of petition, she gave all relevent documents to prove our relationship like copy of chruch marriage certificate and marriage agreement from civil authorities.

Sir, can you please help us regarding this clarification.

Awaiting your reply in this regard.

You do not mention which country this is.

Two problems:
1. She did not include a certified copy of the license (i.e. an official copy from the civil authority)

2. She only submitted a translation without the certified copy in the original language.

Of course, USCIS may have lost it.
Since you do not provide enough information, these are my best guesses.

Many thanks..she submitted xerox copies of the 2 certificates and reg mariage certificate...its not the translated one..the original is in english.

There you have your answer. Make sure to submit a certified copy of the original.

Best wishes
